Utility Atv
Is a 250cc utility atv too small?
My dad wants to by a 250cc utility atv, but i think thats too small, we test drove some a couple years back and they fit him good, thats the only reason.
Everyone i talk to says a utility with a 250cc is too small, and i think we should get one with atleast a 350cc
The 250cc cost alot less, and he doesnt think the money is worth it for a bigger one.
We have a farm and a dirtbike, so it will be used kind of hard
How can i convince him to get a bigger quad? its gonna be a Yamaha or a Honda for sure
i know it can kill u, i always wear a helmet and have never laid my dirtbike down, it is used in fields, mud, etc..
For a work vehicle, a 250 is to small.
A 300 is barely enough
A 350 will do fine without struggling in the process.
For a fool-around-on, play quad - if your riding area is "flat" (no hills) and has no sand/mud, a 250 will be OK.
But if you plan on riding it up & down hills and through loose terain, don't get anything less than a 300.
Tell your Dad, the smaller the engine, the more abuse the engine takes - which leads to expensive engine overhauls.
In the long run, price shouldn't even factor in, because the money you save on the initial purchase will be spent on engine repair.
A few benifits - more fun with a larger engine and less down time for engine repair.
