what is the actual legal amount a document fee should be when buying a Used Car?
Getting ready to buy a newer Used Car and woman i talk to at dealer will charge me 311$ in their fees, after price of car and PA tax then the interest. i wanted to know exactly what my payments would be each month.. i asked what all the 311 was, she said 125 for PA tags. if its too much id get a ck back for difference. then 187$ for DOC fee. I emailed her and said that DOC fees were supposed to be 50$ and under, NOT 187$. she said DOC fees vary from dealer to dealer. I read here on this site that somebody said doc fees are regulated by the state. well, car is in NJ, and yes i do know they have to make some profit with sales, but i dont think the doc fee should be that much.. any feedback here to help out? Used Cars and the fees they include arent always same as buying new. my fees are tax and pa tags and DOC fee, she said. but again, doc fee costing 187$$. thats a lot, for a 10K car

"As a part of every automobile sales transaction with the public,
dealers may charge certain fees and pass on various costs associated
with the sale. These fees are necessary and customary and allow
the dealer to recoup costs for document preparation and licensing.
However, there are limitations to the amount and types of charges
to the public.
Currently, dealers are permitted to charge a maximum of $55
for document preparation. Since this is a negotiable charge, dealers
can charge any amount up to $55. Therefore, this charge may
not be pre-printed on a buyers order. This fee must be separately
itemized on the buyers order and also disclosed by a sign in the
dealership. Caution must be taken by dealers so as not to represent
that this is a state mandated fee."
Sounds like $55 is the maximum they can charge + the fee for the tags (The $125 that they told you) The $55 is negotiable too. Kind of cheap actually, the dealer document fee here in Hawaii is a maximum of $195.

Perhaps the most efficient way of evaluating Czech Republic is to consider key dimensions which themselves are composites of multiple factors. Composite portfolio approaches have long been used by strategic planners.
