Chroma Keying is a technique with which a photographer can mix two frames or pictures together to remove the color of one image to reveal another image behind it. Method:
The technique has simple process to follow. A photographer can create wonders using this technique. Using this process first you have to photograph the subject against a green or blue color background. These shades are furthest away from the skin tone. These two shades are sensitive to image sensors in the camera. The green color is commonly used because image sensors in the digital camera are most sensitive to green color. This is possible as the digital camera allocates more pixels to the green channel. As a result of which the green shade contains the minimum noise in masking the background image of the photograph. Another advantage of using green color background is that you need less light to illuminate the background. This is also possible as the image sensors are sensitive to green color in the digital camera. A photographer should ensure that the subject should not wear any color that is used in the background. For instance, if the subject is wearing blue color jeans and has blue eyes, the photographer should use green shade as the background of the subject. Hence, the color separation is an essential factor while using this technique. Another factor should be the effective lighting in this process. The studio should be evenly and well lit for creating visual effects in the picture. After you have filmed the subject you can use the technique to create any desirable effect. You can use cloning effect or show small fairies flying in the sky and much more. This technique can be used for creating mesmerizing visual effects.
