For much of two decades, those of us in the U.S. looked longingly across the ocean Subaru killed released special edition Imprezas in Japan and the UK. Where WRX trek in the end to the U.S. in 2002, and then STI Two years later, our desire for the blood results of the rally was happy to a point.
A WRX and STI(and hence, Mitsubishi Evolution ) kept our turbocharged, all-wheel-drive desire at bay, never-ending string of factory options continue to come from the fettled Fuji Heavy Industry. Names such as Spec C Type RA-type RAR, S202, S203, S204, WR1, Spec D and asked all RB320 question: Why not here?
Well, ask and ye shall receive. After countless caffeine-fueled late at night, Subaru of America HQ, we have at the end of hype-up their STI. And its not only better than the standard model, it is less expensive to boot.

Only the most annoyingly obsessive Subie fans can spot WRX STI Special Edition from afar, as the only external differences are in the dark 188.5-inch 14-spoke wheels pulled from the Japanese market(JDM) Spec C and Aspen White outside(more colors to be available after the initial sale of 125 units at present). A little closer and youll notice the standard HID headlights have been converted to conventional halogen units, and if you pull out your micrometer, you will find Special Edition is a mm lower than standard counterparts.

Like everything in life is all about compromise. With STI Special Edition, you have to give up some creature comforts for a slight but significant increase in productivity. Its something I have to ask first about the WRX hit our shores, and Subaru not only repaired, its charging us less for the privilege. Porsche , take into account.
