Mulbekh Chamba:
It is located about 45km east of Kargil which is famous for Buddhist monastery atop 200 meters at high rock. In this monastery one can see 9 meter high rock sculpture of Maitreya Buddha of future ages. This imposing sculpture depicts a standing Bodhisattva with 4 arms and a headdress which is adorned with jewels. It is a monastery lying on a rocky crag which dominates the whole valley. Inside the monastery one can see frescoes, statues and age old relics which give the glimpses of bygone era when Buddhism first came here.
Shergole:
This is the cave monastery located in a quaint village 5 km from Mulbekh. It is made up of brown granite rocks suspended in the middle of the mountain. It looks like a hanging out of a cliff. Though this is a small monastery but is known through out the world for its frescoes based on various mythological themes.
Urgyan Rzong:
It is a meditation retreat which is located in an amazing natural mountain fortress. This is concealed inside a green circular valley with a monastic establishment at its center which makes it lesser known to the outer world.
