Great Ways to Keep Boredom at Bay in Cold Weather
When the weather starts to get colder, it becomes increasingly difficult to find something fun to do. It’s easy to fall into the same pattern of meeting your friends at the bar and overindulging on greasy foods and beer, but that can get really dull after awhile and it can really start to affect your slim waistline. If you’re in search of a few fun and different activities to this weekend that don’t involve fatty foods or booze, then check out my list below.
Poker Party.
Okay this could potentially involve both fatty foods and booze, but they don’t necessarily go hand-in-hand. Plan a healthy and fun poker party buy providing nutritious snacks like chopped vegetables and fruit instead. The night will more competitive if you don’t have food or alcohol as a distraction. All you need then is to invite some of your closest friends, buy a few card decks and some plastic poker chips. Then you’ll be ready to go!
Winter Sports
If you live in a climate that provides an ample supply of snow every winter, then why not take advantage of it next weekend. You can head over to your local ski slopes and tear up the black diamonds or you can keep it simple and classic by whipping out your old sled or toboggan and sliding down a big hill in your neighborhood.
Camping.
Most people don’t consider winter an ideal time for camping, but it can really be a great little weekend getaway.  As long as you pack some really warm clothing and a sturdy three-season ten. You may need to reinforce it to withstand harsh winter winds, but as long as you pack good food, have warm clothes and start a little campfire, you’ll have a blast and be extremely cozy.
There are tons of things that you can do to keep yourself from getting bored this winter. Stop doing the same old thing and start experiencing all of the wonderful opportunities that winter has to offer you.
