The 2010 Range Rover 5.0 Liter Engine Delivers Plenty of Power
The Land Rover Range Rover is a luxury sports utility vehicle which is produced and sold by Land Rover. The Land Rover Range Rover was first introduced in 1970 and is still produced today.
The 2010 Land Rover Range Rover has two new engine options. The first engine option, which comes standard on the HSE trim level, is a 5.0-liter, eight cylinder engine. This V8 engine gets up to 375 horsepower and 375 pound feet of torque. The next trim level, which is the 2010 Land Rover Range Rover Supercharged, is a 5.0-liter supercharged, eight cylinder engine. This supercharged V8 gets a very impressive 510 horsepower and 461 pound feet of torque. Both engine options come standard with a six-speed automatic transmission that has a manual shifting mode.
Since the 2010 Land Rover Range Rover is so powerful, it gets pretty poor fuel efficiency. According to the Environmental Protection Agency, the Range Rover gets 12 miles per gallon in the city and 18 miles per gallon on the highway. The HSE and Supercharged trims have the same fuel efficiency. While fuel efficiency is poor, it is standard compared to other large high-performance SUVs.
The engine options within the 2010 Land Rover Range Rover are the same as the 2009 model. Prior to the 2009 model, the Range Rover came with a small engine option, which was a 4.2 -liter, V8 engine. The 4.2 -liter engine produced around 400 horsepower. Prior to 2009, there was also a 4.4 -liter engine option which was slightly more powerful than the 4.2-liter engine.
Also, the six-speed automatic transmission was not introduced until 2006. Prior to 2006, the Land Rover Range Rover came with an automatic five-speed automatic transmission.
