Does anyone know of any good, cheap used-car outlets around Brisbane, Australia?

Hey, I'm in Brissie too, just got my green Ps. Your best bet is probably the Moorooka magic mile. Just work your way through the lot, there are definitely plenty of bargains and since everything is going to be driveaway priced, most of it's pretty good. Don't write off older cars straight away though, there are plenty of older luxury cars that are still much better than some of the cheaper newer ones (ie: older BMWs that are the same price as a suzuki swift etc. Or a saab convertible or volvo for 10k with all the luxuries that you don't find on a cheaper newer car. Although I admit repairs are more and economy isn't that great (if that's what you're after).

Honestly, you've got a little while, have a walk through the caryards at Moorooka, test drive as many as you can and go from there. And negotiate the price. The sales people all know what other cars are for sale next door so if you are expressing genuine interest in a competitor they might do you a better deal.

Otherwise try online at www.carsales.com.au and www.tradingpost.com.au but look for those selling with a roadworthy. The magic mile is definitely your best option for what you want.
