The 2010 GMC Canyon is highly modified version and shares its conventional design with the Chevrolet Colorado. It comes in extended and regular cab body styles along with a 6-feet long bed as well as a 4-door Crew Cab version that has a five-feet long bed. Entire versions currently support four-wheel drive as well as rear-wheel drives.
For the purpose of off-roading, a low-range gear is available too. In the regular cab design, the SLE-1, SLT, and work trims levels are provided, while the Extended and regular cab Canyons are coming with a 2.9-liter 4-cylinder engine that produce 185-hp. The SLE-1 Crew Cab with rear-drive is using this engine as a standard one. A 3.7-liter 5-cylinder engine is standard on other cabs, but optional on crew cabs. Crews and extended provide a 5.3-liter V8 engine with 300-hp too. Either manual or automatic transmissions are paired with the engines having 4-cylinder, where V8 and 5-cylinder engines get automatic transmission.
2010 GMC Canyon has a towing capacity about 6000 lbs. Three persons can be seated in the back rows of the regular cabs. Extended have jump seats to accommodate five members and also come with rear-hinged back doors. A folding back bench with four standard doors for accommodating six members is available optionally too. Safety features like airbags, antiskid system, ABS, and traction control are seen on all the trims. For the versions with rear-wheel drive, a ZQ8 suspension package is standard that also has 18-inch Alloy Wheels, while the higher end versions have a sporty suspension, and powerful V8 engine.
Those looking for some serious off-roading, Z71 Suspension Package is also available that has off-road-ready suspension and sturdy tires.
