Cheap Used Vehicles

US Government Auctions - Where You Can Buy Cheap Used Vehicles
Looking for a Used Vehicle but is having second thoughts about its condition? Then go for a brand new one.
If your budget is not enough, stop dreaming of a brand new ride there. Instead, check out US government auctions where you can buy really cheap used vehicles.
Hector Milla Editor of the "Best Government Auctions" website -- http://www.BestGovernmentAuctions.org -- pointed out;
"…Several branches of the US government hold auctions not just once but two or more times a year to dispose surplus fleet vehicles, which include those that have been seized from some reasons and those that have retired from service. If you are in the lookout of a Used Vehicle that is sold at a lower price, then you have to get regular updates about the auctions near your area…"
Now, you might ask, "How come the US government sells these used vehicles at very low prices in spite of their good condition?" Almost every year, the government buys a new set of vehicles to make sure that their different branches or agencies have well-functioning rides to complete daily transactions. Just imagine if only one vehicle is used for at least five to ten years. This will sure wear out after some time, thus its regular breakdowns may disrupt important government transactions. To avoid this, government imposes a strict regulation as to how long a vehicle must be kept before it is considered retired from service. Once it reached that period, it must be disposed of by means of a public auction.
Aside from government vehicles, there are other vehicles that they sell at auctions such as seized vehicles that are involved in tax evasion prosecutions and are used in transporting illegal drugs. During the court proceedings, these vehicles are kept by the government. Once proceedings are done, they dispose them through auctions. You could be very lucky if you are able buy one of these vehicles. Why? Because seized vehicles, like the ones from drug dealers, are still in very good condition. Sometimes, they are even just a few months old when seized by the government.
"…Buying a cheap Used Car that is still in very good condition can really be hard if you don't know exactly where to begin your search. Now that you know that in US government auctions you can find cheap but still in good condition vehicles, you have to be updated about the auctions happening in your place soon. Prior to the auction proper, you can always check the vehicles for major problems. Or better yet, bring someone along who is really good in cars to help you examine the vehicles for sale…" added H. Milla.

Dirt Cheap $3.98 Lyn Miller-Lachmann's novel, "Dirt Cheap," is an eco-thriller that will strongly appeal to anyone interested in ecology and the crime novel genre. In this suspenseful novel, Nick Baran, a middle-aged professor, pursues the chemical company that he believes gave him leukemia and contaminated his suburban neighborhood. His wife feels isolated, exhausted and frightened by her husband's obsessive pursuit, and ultimately begins an affair with a powerful local attorney who opposes her husband's efforts. When Sandy (the idealistic teacher of Nick's son) joins Nick's crusade, she allows herself to be drawn into a retaliatory affair and into his messy and tragic life. Told from multiple points of view, "Dirt Cheap" explores the loss of innocence, the nature of courage, the price of material comforts, the place of faith and community, and the power of the individual to change lives. Lyn Miller-Lachmann is editor in chief of "MultiCultural Review" and an author and editor of reference books, textbooks, and books for young readers. Among these are the award-winning multicultural reference title "Our Family, Our Friends, Our World" and "Once Upon a Cuento," a collection of short stories for children by Latino authors. She lives in Albany, New York. |

Cheap Diamonds $3.98 Norris Church Mailer triumphantly returns to the page with this breezy, hilarious novel of discovery and destiny. Set against the backdrop of 1970s New York City, "Cheap Diamonds" follows a sweet young girl from the South who risks it all to fulfill her heart's desire. Cherry Marshall seeks a life beyond the confines of her Arkansas world. "Sweet Valley was not the place for a girl with stars in her eyes, and I had stars big enough to blind me." Leaving behind all the comforts-and problems-of home, she sets out to enter the New York modeling world at the advanced age of twenty-two. At "five-twelve," with unusually white eyebrows, the platinum-blond beauty may be a little too unique to fit in with the latest crop of all-American girls dominating the magazines of the era. Yet aided by her Southern smarts, her drive, and a touch of country naivete, Cherry finds herself in the right place at the right time-and with all the right people. There's makeup artist Salvador, who moonlights as "Miss Sally"; Suzan Hartman, a model turned agency head and fellow Arkansan; Mrs. Digby, Cherry's eccentric landlady, a former Ziegfeld girl; Aurelius, a saxophonist and neighbor who piques Cherry's romantic interests; and Lale, a hunk from back home who skipped out on his fiancee, Cherry's friend Cassie, to become an underwear model. It all unfolds like a dream-this new world where men have boyfriends, and paintings of soup cans pass for art. As Cherry's star begins to rise, she finds herself at Max's Kansas City among Andy Warhol's glamorous crowd, dining at Elaine's, and drawing the attention of high society. But their sophisticated, sometimes shallow ways are often at odds with Cherry's homegrown values. The line between right and wrong blurs, and the ingenue will discover how far she's willing to go to stay on top. Mailer vividly captures a thrilling era when New York City was the burgeoning center of art and fashion, when being young and beautiful was the only currency one needed for survival. Smartly written, full of humor and hope, "Cheap Diamonds" reminds us that no matter where we travel in life, we are never very far from home. "From the Hardcover edition." |

The Real Cost of Cheap Food $135.35 This challenging but accessible book critically examines the dominant food regime on its own terms, by seriously asking whether we can afford cheap food and exploring what exactly cheap food affords us. Detailing the numerous ways that food has become reduced to a state, such as a price per ounce, combination of nutrients, yield per acre, or calories, the book argues for a more contextual understanding of food when debating its affordability. The author makes a compelling case for why today's global food system produces just the opposite of what it promises. The food produced under this regime is in fact exceedingly expensive. Thus meat production and consumption are inefficient uses of resources and contribute to climate change; the use of pesticides in industrial-scale agriculture may produce cheap food, but there are hidden costs to environmental protection, human health and biodiversity conservation. Many of these costs will be paid for by future generations cheap food today may mean expensive food tomorrow. By systematically assessing these costs the book delves into issues related, but not limited, to international development, national security, health care, industrial meat production, organic farming, corporate responsibility, government subsidies, food aid and global commodity markets. The book concludes by suggesting ways forward, going beyond the usual solutions such as farmers markets, community supported agriculture, and community gardens. Exploding the myth of cheap food requires we have at our disposal a host of practices and policies. Some of those proposed and explored include microloans, subsidies for consumers, vertical agriculture, and the democratization of subsidies for producers. |

How to Build a Cheap Chopper $26.35 Choppers don't have to cost thirty thousand dollars. In fact, a chopper built at home can be had for as little as five thousand dollars. The key is the use of a donor bike for most of the components. How to Build a Cheap Chopper documents the construction of four inexpensive choppers with complete start-to-finish photo sequences. Least expensive is the metric chopper, based on a 1970s vintage Japanese four-cylinder engine and transmission installed in a hardtail frame. Don't look for billet accessories or a fancy candy paint job on this one. Next up, price wise, are two bikes built using Buell/Sportster drivetrains. The fact is, a complete used Buell or Sportster can be had for five thou or less. Now you've got more than an engine you have wheels and tires, brakes, hardware, lights, harness, and some sheet metal. Bolt all that stuff to a simple hardtail frame to create an almost-instant chopper. Most lavish, but still cheap by comparison with many of the bikes built today, is a big twin chopper built from carefully chosen aftermarket parts. A RevTech engine and five-speed tranny set in a Rolling Thunder frame. Accessorize from the swap meet and add a simple one-color paint job to create a bike no one needs to be ashamed of. |
