Purchasing Small Aluminum Fishing Boats - 3 Tips To Get The Best
When you plan to buy a small Fishing Boat made of aluminum, you should always ensure that you are getting your money’s worth. The boat may be priced reasonable and look pretty good on top, but you should always do a thorough investigation to see if there are any underlying problems or shoddy repair jobs done, which may suddenly give way and make you pay much more than you bargained for. So when you decide upon procuring a small aluminum fishing boat which is made of aluminum, you must take the time to find out details of its previous use and repairs that have been conducted on it, and in general what sort of a maintenance it has had.
1. A well maintained used boat is a good buy
It is not necessary to buy a brand new boat only. Some old boat that has been maintained very well could also give you several years of good service and also cost you much less. You would be able to buy a boat that has all the requirements and it would be much more affordable if it is a used boat. Some old boats have been card for very well and are almost as good as new if not better, especially if the owner has done modifications and added equipment to it. In cases like this you would truly benefit by buying a used boat. However, this does not mean that you should not buy a new one. New boats have their own advantages.
2. Buying a new aluminum fishing boat
Sometimes you may find a brand new fishing boat well within your budget. You should again do a bit of research and see which manufacturer gives the best deal and has a good reputation. Before you do the actual buying you should compare all the pros and cons of the different manufacturers and the makes of the small fishing boats made of aluminum and only then come to a final decision. The most popular aluminum small fishing boats are those that are of the 11 foot size, but these are quite small and maybe too small to be of much use to you. If you go in for a one that is a few feet larger you may have a boat that has room enough to accommodate all that you need for your fishing trips and still be a light weight boat. So it is worth your while to put your money on a boat that is of a larger size.
3. Look out for the quality and life span of a boat.
You should make sure that you know things such as the lifespan and the quality of the boat before you buy it. The seams are very often a problem with these boats, so ensure that you protect the seams from the beginning. If you take care of minor jobs on the boat it will pay you in the long run, so maintain and keep your boat clean and weather proof it well. Once you have ensured all these things your boat should give you many years of fault free service.

What materials would I need to add a live well to a 12' aluminum fishing boat?
I have added wooden fishing platforms on the front and back with a trolling motor on front with an outboard on back. This is not leaving me a heck of a lot of room. How big should it be to enable us to fish most bass tourneys? FYI the boat is a 12' Meyers
here's what i did on my 12ft gamefisher i took a medium sized cooler about 2 1/2 feet long by a foot or so wide and drill a few holes on the lid so you can slide a hose from a battery operate aerator but also get a few bait bubble tablets and put them in with the fish also put a few hand fulls o ice in about every hr. the way i did it just met the qualifications for my B.A.S.S. Club.
P.S. drill a few more small holes through the lid so when the aerator it going the air doesn't pop the lid off.
